Guadiola - we never lost faith in bojan

Speaking in an interview with the club’s official website, Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola praised Bojan Krkic for his two goals against Almeria on Saturday and emphasized the fact that he never lost faith in the young striker. Bojan found the net twice in Barcelona’s 0-8 away victory against Almeria in the Spanish League. He had been struggling for goals at the start of the season but has now began to score regularly, making Guardiola pleased.

“He never lost his confidence, and neither did we lose faith in him. He was a vital part of the league championship last year. He made the two goals he scored. We know he’s there when we need him,” Guardiola said. He also praised young defender Andreu Fontas for his performance in the starting lineup and said, “I congratulate Andreu on his performance. Gerard (Pique) had some trouble with his leg. And of there was the risk he’d get booked. But I trust Andreu and took a gamble on him. He had an extraordinary game, congratulations to him.”
He added, “We scored nearly every time we went forward, unlike other days. It is not easy to describe a game that finished like that. I want to congratulate the team on their effectiveness.”
